NFL preseasonEagles vs. Ravens preseason watching guide New Malcolm Jenkins Jerseys Stitched ,10commentsLearn more about the Philadelphia-Baltimore matchup set to take place on Thursday evening.EDTThe Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens got to face off in practice twice this week. Now they’ll be going up against each other in a preseason game on Thursday night.Well, sort of. We probably won’t see much of the Eagles’ first team units. Jim Schwartz’s defense might get some limited playing time after previously playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. But it’s hard to imagine we’ll see Carson Wentz and the Eagles’ starting offense.Teams resting their starters in preseason games seems to be the way the league is going. Doug Pederson said as much earlier this week. A number of Eagles players talked about how joint practice reps are more valuable than uncontrollable preseason game scenarios. That mindset is certainly different than how things used to be. The third preseason game was previously known for being the “dress rehearsal” game ahead of the regular season. You know, the one where the starters actually played into the third quarter. But we probably won’t be seeing that on Thursday night. Instead, we’ll have the luxury of watching the Eagles’ backups battle for playing time and/or jobs on the 53-man roster (or 10-man practice squad). It’s unclear who’ll get the start at quarterback. It could be Josh McCown if the Eagles want to get the 40-year-old some reps in their scheme. It could be Cody Kessler assuming he’s fully cleared for game action after suffering a concussion last week. Or it could be Clayton Thorson, who most needs the reps as a developmental player. At the very least, we do know we’ll be getting some Eagles football action on Thursday night. And, as always, that beats no football at all. It’ll also be nice to know there’s just one more preseason game remaining after Thursday’s final whistle. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch the game.TV ScheduleDate: Thursday, August 22, 2019Time: 7:30 PM ETChannel: NBC10Announcers: Scott Graham, Ross TuckerLocation: Lincoln Financial Field | Philadelphia, Pennsylvania NFL Network replay: Friday, August 23 at 1:00 PM ET | Saturday Youth Darren Sproles Jerseys , August 24 at 10:00 AM ETRadio: SportsRadio 94WIPOnline StreamingFuboTVNFL Game Pass (free 7-day trial)OddsPer Bovada, the Eagles are five point home underdogs. The group includes: linebacker Asantay Brown, center Anthony Fabiano, offensive guard Kaleb Johnson, defensive back Jeremiah McKinnon, wide receiver Braxton Miller, wide receiver Dorren Miller, defensive end Joe Ostman, running back Donnel Pumphrey, cornerback Chandon Sullivan Youth Jordan Matthews Jerseys , and tight end Will Tye. Braxton Miller, Pumphrey, and Ostman are arguably the most intriguing names from this group of players. Miller was a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and has some NFL experience. Pumphrey was looking like he might win the fourth running back job in training camp but ultimately got hurt again. Ostman received high praise from the coaching staff for simulating the likes of Khalil Mack, J.J. Watt, etc. in practice and getting the Eagles’ offensive line ready for game day. These players are obviously long shots to be difference makers. They’ll need strong offseason performances just to have a chance at making the 2019 regular season roster. But who knows, maybe the Eagles can find a diamond in the rough from this group. In addition to these ten players, the Eagles previously announced four future contract signings: WR Carlton AgudosiOT Tyreek BurwellDB Mercy MastonLB Alex SingletonThe Eagles have also reportedly signed former CFL wide receiver Marken Michel but the team has yet to confirm that move.
