Elijah Lee not fined Tevin Coleman Jersey , LeGarrette Blount fined $10,026 for unnecessary roughness One of the lesser storylines coming out of the San Francisco 49ers win over the Detroit Lions was Lions running back LeGarrette Blount’s antics in the fourth quarter. On second down, quarterback Matthew Stafford scrambled out of the pocket and took off down the sideline. 49ers linebacker Elijah Lee met Stafford and knocked him out of bounds and onto his back. Assuming it was a late hit, Bount then clocked Lee from the sidelines resulting in a penalty. After it’s all said and done, Blount was fined $10,026 for the incident, Lee got nothing. There was some question on if Lee would get fined for the hit on Stafford, but the hit was legal. Stafford was inbounds and a runner Arik Armstead Jersey , making him fair game for defenses to attack. The Blount hit, however was not, as it was after the play was blown dead. Despite what the announcing crew may have said to the contrary, the officials got this right. This isn’t the first time Blount has been involved in an issue. Many may remember the infamous “Duck and Cover” incident from his college days at Oregon where Blount decked an opposing player for Boise State after a 19-8 loss. The incident derailed Blount’s college career. In any case, this is one of those few situations where the NFL got it right. Each week, it seems like Kyle Shanahan is talking about a different one of them having a very good camp. I can’t even begin to guess which one will make the 53 man roster but I am thoroughly enjoying the battle. The position I was the most worried about during the offseason was linebacker. Other than Fred Warner, I did not see a lot of promise at the position. Then we threw huge sums of money at Kwon Alexander. While realizing he was very talented, the whole idea of throwing that kind of money at a guy that was rehabbing from an ACL injury seemed pretty risky and I did not have a lot of faith in our backups.I don’t know who decided to draft Dre Greenlaw and bring in David Mayo and Azeez Al-Shaair but they are looking pretty intelligent at the moment. The addition of those players has definitely driven the competition to a much higher lever.I don’t know if players like Jeremiah Valoago, Damontre Moore or Kevin Givens will make the team but coach Kocurek certainly has them fired up and getting themselves noticed. I think players like DJ Jones, Sheldon Day Frank Gore Jersey White , and even Ronald Blair might want to take a look over their shoulder.Tight end is another position that has a couple of openings. I don’t think things are as settled as some people think.I know the fourth game of the preseason is mainly played by players that are not going to make the team but I think some position battles my come down to that fourth game.
