Just a month after announcing five new hires among their coaching staff, it appears they’re making a significant move in their scouting department.As first reported by Neil Stratton, and later corroborated by Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, the Lions have parted ways with Director of Pro Scouting Brendan Prophett.Prophett had held that position since 2016, after spending a couple years with the New Orleans Saints. He has been a scout of some capacity in the NFL since 1999, including 15 seasons as part of the New York Jets personnel staff. As a Director of Pro Scouting, Prophett was in charge of compiling data and information to help the team gain more information on other team’s players for trading purposes Danny Amendola Jersey , waiver claims, and, especially, free agency. Now that the Lions have pretty much finished their significant free agency signings, the Lions are apparently ready to move on from Prophett.Though it appears the Lions did well for themselves this offseason, last year’s free agency was a disaster.
