he’s 108 Youth Mark Bavaro Jerseys ,” says GM Dave Gettleman The New York Giants made the signing of Odell Beckham Jr. to a massive new contract extension official on Monday afternoon. The Giants did not announce terms of the deal, believed to be worth $95 million, but they did discuss the length of the contract.“It’s a five-year extension, six years total,” GM Dave Gettleman said via a statement released by the team. “We got him until he’s 108. I never worried whether or not we would get it done. I’m pleased, because the litmus test for a contract is that neither side is ticked off before the ink can dry, and neither side should be ticked off. It’s a very fair deal.”Beckham, who celebrated with teammates in the locker room after signing the deal, was grateful.“Honestly, I don’t even know how to explain it,” Beckham said. “I don’t know if it’s a relief, I don’t know – it’s a combination of everything. You’ve worked all your life to get to this point and it’s finally here. I have to thank Mr. Mara, Steve Tisch, Mr. Gettleman, coach (Pat) Shurmur, Eli (Manning), all the guys I played with in the past years. Everybody was really a part of this - my mom, my dad, my family, everybody who was supporting me through this. It’s just such an amazing feeling, I can’t even explain. Most importantly, I have to thank God for being able to put me back together mentally, physically Mark Bavaro Jerseys Stitched , spiritually. This is just truly amazing; I don’t even know the right words to describe.“It was just a time of patience and waiting and I knew that it would get done, it just was a matter of when and I’m just so happy that it is finally done now.”This is a deal co-owner John Mara has wanted to reach with Beckham for some time now.“As I have said, I think Odell personally is moving in the right direction,” said Mara, the Giants’ president and chief executive officer. “He came to camp with a tremendous attitude, with a smile on his face and worked hard and reminded us of his unique abilities. He’s ready to have a great season and we’re ready for him to have a great season.”“It was not a distraction because of the way we handled it,” Gettleman said. “The way he handled it, the way we handled it. I was thrilled when he spoke to the media at training camp. I was thrilled he said it’ll get done when it gets done, because that’s what it is. You can’t force things, it’s a negotiation. It’s a back and forth, both sides have to be intentional and thoughtful, which we were. It was great negotiating, it was a very good give and take with Kevin (Abrams, the assistant general manager) and Zeke (Sandhu, Beckham’s agent). We got to the right answer as far as I’m concerned.”“It’s a great day for our franchise and our fans,” said chairman and executive vice president Steve Tisch. “I am excited about our future, especially with Odell and Eli and their teammates operating in Pat’s (Shurmur) offense. We have seen Odell grow. His enthusiasm and work ethic are contagious, and my hope for him and for us - and I know he feels the same - is for him to be remembered as one of the great Giants of all time.”Beckham said the deal is “not going to change my goals.”“This just kind of secures you and your family, and the ones that are going to come along after you in your family,” he said. “For me, it’s not going to change my goals that I have on the field. If anything, it just increased them even more. I just want to be able to come out and play football the way that I’ve always played, the way that I love it and have some of my best years that I’ve ever had in my entire life. This is nothing but more motivation to go even harder and to do even better.” Notes and tidbits we might have missed as we grind through the draft process"WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections New York Giants NewsGiants Training Camp 2016Giants vs. Eagles 2015 Color Rush Darius Slayton Jersey , Week 17New York Giants News2019 NFL DraftDraft notebook: Penn State is in the New York metropolitan area? Chuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsThe 2019 NFL Draft is less than three weeks away, and teams are still in the process of gathering as much last-minute information as they can. The Draft Process itself is nearing its end as campus Pro Days wrapped up on the fourth with Eastern Washington and Stanford’s Pro Day. From here on in, the bulk of the draft news will be which teams are bringing which prospects in for visits, along with speculation on what those visits might mean. Of course the New York Giants are bringing prospects in, and considering they can hope for one of the elite defensive prospects to fall to them, they are looking at them all.Giants look at Drew Lock and Trace McSorleyThe Giants have certainly been doing their due diligence on nearly every quarterback in the 2019 Draft. It isn’t surprising to see Jordan Raanan of ESPN report that they were bringing Missouri quarterback Drew Lock in as a Top 30 visit. Rumors have swirled that Giants head coach Pat Shurmur might be intrigued with Lock’s raw physical tools, and mock drafters have begun selecting him above Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins. However, the following report, that they are using one of their Top 30 visits to bring in Penn State’s Trace McSorley, was certainly a surprise. The Giants have been bringing prospects in for pre-draft visits, so it is understandable that Raanan might have thought that McSorley is a Top 30 visit. However, as he amended in a later tweet, McSorley does not count against the Giants’ 30-player cap on visits. That is important for a few reasons, but the most immediate is that teams are allowed to time and test prospects in local visits. The rules are a bit wonky, stating that if a player comes from within the team city’s “metropolitan area,” and transports themselves, it does not count towards the total. While the Penn State campus isn’t that far from MetLife Stadium (only about 90 miles), it is only just outside Philadelphia, and is definitely more local for the Eagles.Perhaps the northeast teams are arguing that as a part of the Northeast Megaloplolis they all share a metropolitan area? Other Top 30 visitsThe Giants are bringing some other noteworthy players in for visits in the coming days. The NFL has placed strict rules on those visits, starting with the fact that they count as official visits when the teams transport players to their facilities — which seems to be the distinguishing characteristic of the McSorley visit. When visits are official, teams are allowed to hold medical and written tests, as well as interviews. However Youth Darius Slayton Jersey , they are not allowed to time prospects or put them through field drills, which they can do on their local pro day. So, let’s get to some visits of note: Quinnen Williams (DT, Alabama) - Reported by Kim JonesJosh Allen (EDGE, Kentucky) - Reported by Adam SchefterNick Bosa (EDGE, Ohio State)Ed Oliver (DT, Houston) Dwayne Haskins (QB, Ohio State) Daniel Jones (QB, Duke) - It was also widely reported that the Giants traveled to Duke to hold a workout for Jones.Jaylon Ferguson (DL, Louisiana Tech) - Reported by Ryan Dunleavy of NJ Advance Media -Ferguson was not allowed to work out at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine due to an fight outside of a McDonalds his junior year.Dexter Lawrence (DT, Clemson) Taylor Rapp (S, Washington) - Reported by Matt Lombardo of NJ Advance Media P.J. Arcega-Whiteside decided to skip the measurable portions of the Scouting Combine. That turned out to be a good decision, as he turned heads with a 4.49-second 40-yard dash. While a 4.49 isn’t “blazing” speed, for a receiver who measures 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, that is a solid time. For reference, Dez Bryant ran a 4.52 and Josh Gordan ran a 4.53 at similar sizes. While his athleticism might not jump off the field, Arcega-Whiteside confirmed that he is impressive for his size.
