In last years playoffs, Sam Houston eliminated McNeese in the second round.In last years preseason polls, Southeastern Louisiana was picked second by the coaches and third by the SIDs. The Lions got off to a 3-1 start, but they collapsed from there, set back by injuries, a struggling offense, turnovers and an inability to win close games.With an 11-team race, there is less room for error, Southeastern coach Ron Roberts said of the Southland, now in its third season since expanding from eight teams.
