Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another touchdown as the 49ers beat the Jaguars 44-33 last season Andre Hal Jersey , but Jaguars cornerback Jalen Ramsey was not impressed.

Ramsey said on NFL Network that his fellow players were wrong to put Garoppolo in the Top 100 players in the NFL, as Ramsey didn’t come away thinking Garoppolo was great.

“What did he play, five games? He has good potential, I think he’ll be a good player, but my experience in playing him, it was a lot of scheme stuff. It wasn’t like he was just dicing us up,” Ramsey said.

So why did the 49ers go from 1-10 without Garoppolo to 5-0 after Garoppolo got on the field? Ramsey said defenses just weren’t ready for him.

“Nobody got to scheme on him this year. There was not a lot of film on him Aaron Donald Jersey ,” Ramsey said.

There will be no such excuses this year, as everyone has now had plenty of time to see what Garoppolo can do.

During Todd Haley’s tenure as the offensive coordinator of the Steelers, there were reports that he didn’t see eye to eye with Ben Roethlisberger. Now Haley is offensive coordinator of the Browns, and his recent comments suggest that he’s happy to have different quarterbacks to work with.

Haley said the quarterback room he’s working with now may be the best he’s worked with — even though he was working with a future Hall of Famer in Roethlisberger, and even though Tyrod Taylor, Baker Mayfield and Drew Stanton are not on Roethlisberger’s level.

I think that it鈥檚 an intelligent, intelligent group, with ability to throw the football and make plays with their legs, some of them. Competition is created in the room, even though they鈥檙e working hard together to help each other and get better as a group.鈥?/p>

Haley and head coach Hue Jackson are in complete agreement that Taylor is the team leader.

His car is there every morning in his spot when I get here in the morning, and it鈥檚 there when I鈥檓 leaving,鈥?Haley said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 what you鈥檙e looking for in the leader of your offense. I think that he鈥檚 done a great job with understanding the terminology, concepts and all of the different things. Like I said, we threw a lot at him. That’s good news for Browns fans, who have wished for a long time they could find a quarterback situation like the Steelers have.
