It wasn’t the prettiest of wins across the division , but all four teams in the NFC South were able to avoid the loss column in Week 7.
Here’s how it all happened.Tommy Gilligan-USA https://www.thesaintsfanshop.com/Alvin-Kamara-Jersey TODAY SportsComing into Week 7, the entire NFC South was in action. The https://www.thesaintsfanshop.com/Craig-Robertson-Jersey first place New Orleans Saints (4-1) were coming out of their bye week to face a divisional leader for the second week in a row, taking on the leaders of the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens. The second place Carolina Panthers (3-2) faced the suddenly-struggling Philadelphia Eagles in the City of Brotherly Love. The third place Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) hosted the lowly Cleveland Browns, and the last place Atlanta Falcons (2-4) hosted the disappointing New York Giants. The Saints were the only team to face a team with a winning record in Week 7, but they were able to take care of business thanks in no small part to Justin Tucker missing the first extra point of his career, 24-23. The win improved the Saints to 5-1. The rest of the division took advantage of their weaker opponents, all eking out wins as well. The Buccaneers, not the Panthers, were the NFC South team to win on the back of an extra long field goal Cameron Meredith Jersey , beating the Browns 26-23 in overtime, improving to .500 at 3-3. The Carolina Panthers held on to win against the Eagles to the tune of 21-17, keeping pace with the Saints, now at 4-2. The Atlanta Falcons were able to edge out the New York Giants in a one possession game 23-20 on Monday Night Football, to now sit a game under .500 at 4-3. Chuck Cook-USA TODAY SportsNow into Week 8, the Atlanta Falcons now take their bye.The Carolina Panthers now get to face the Baltimore Ravens (4-3), but have the luxury of facing Joe Flacco and Company at home. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers face one of the Saints future opponents, the Cincinnati Bengals (4-3). Both of those games are Sunday at noon. The New Orleans Saints seek redemption for the Minnesota Miracle, facing the Vikings (4-2-1) in Minnesota Sunday night. If the Saints can find a way to beat the Vikings for the first time in three tries in Minnesota, it could be a good opportunity to gain a bit of ground in the NFC. But let’s worry about our game and let the rest of the division take care of itself.#BeattheVikings If you’re a daily fantasy player Rick Leonard Color Rush Jersey , before each game I will look at three/four players from the New Orleans Saints and their opponent’s rosters that I would target in daily fantasy (based off their value and potential results). Obviously, Saints QB Drew Brees is a safe QB for daily fantasy leagues, but spending your money on a top-tier starting QB leaves you scraping the barrel to fill out the rest of your roster. aSo here are three Saints and one Cowboy that provide the most bang for your buck. (Values from Fanduel.)QB Drew Brees (NO) - $9,000We know that Sean Payton likes to send a message, and he’s going to have Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints offense ready to send a message Thursday night. At $500 cheaper than the most expensive QB available this week (fellow MVP-candidate Patrick Mahomes), Brees is a safe bet to still provide solid value.RB Alvin Kamara (NO) - $8,600One of the biggest beneficiaries of Drew’s big day is likely to be Alvin Kamara out of the backfield. The Cowboys are pretty tough against the run, but that shouldn’t stop Kamara from putting up a respectable stat line. At $1,200 cheaper than the most expensive RB available in daily fantasy, he’s a great play this week.WR Michael Thomas (NO) - $8 https://www.thesaintsfanshop.com/John-Kuhn-Jersey ,400The other big name that could be catching passes from Drew Brees all game is Saints WR Michael Thomas. Thomas will look to give the Cowboys secondary fits all game, and after having a quiet night on Thanksgiving, it’s not likely he sits quietly back for the second week in a row. At $400 cheaper than the most expensive WR available this week, he could have a monster game.WR Amari Cooper (DAL) - $6,900But the Saints won’t be able to completely shut down the Cowboys offense either. Amari Cooper has been great for Dallas after the trade from Oakland, and he’s QB Dak Prescott’s newest favorite red zone target. At $1,900 cheaper than the most expensive WR available this week, he’s a fantasy steal. My full daily fantasy lineup this week: QB: Drew Brees (NO) - $9,000RB: Alvin Kamara (NO) - $8,600RB: Austin Ekeler (LAC) - $5 Alex Okafor Jersey ,400WR: Michael Thomas (NO) - $8,400WR: Amari Cooper (OAK) - $6,900WR: Corey Davis (TEN) - $5,900TE: Rob Gronkowski (NE) - $6,700FLEX: RB TJ Yeldon (JAC) - $4,800DST: Colts (at Jaguars) - $4,200
