(XinhuaChen Xiaowei) PARIS, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, a two- time champion in previous Paris Masters, claimed his 20th ATP Masters 1000 title here without dropping a set after taking his 600th career victory over 10th-ranked Canadian Milos Raonic on Sunday.
It took the 27-year-old Serbian one hour 23 minutes to brush aside the 23-year-old sensation 6-2, 6-3 to lift the tree-shaped crystal trophy and go further en route to ending the year on top.
With the victory, coming in the first tournament that Djokovic has taken since becoming a father Maglia Dalbert Henrique Inter Milano , Djokovic increases his lead over Roger Federer in the rankings to 1,310 points before the ATP Finals in London on Nov. 9-16.
"I played the best match of the entire week today when it was most needed," commented the Serbian after the match.
"I got a lot of returns back and just overall extremely happy with the performance," he added.
Breaking service in as early as the second game and holding off a right calf strain while leading 4-2, Djokovic, being impressive from the baseline and solid on serve, wrapped up the first set by breaking a second serve after Raonic committed double faults in the game.
Rushing into the second set Maglia Daniele Padelli Inter Milano , the Serbian, saving all of his four break points throughout the match, again converted an early break service, which is enough for the defending champion.
"I thought he played some great tennis, having neutralized my serve well," said Raonic after the match. "Even when I was able to open him on the backhand side, he was moving really well."
The big server Maglia Miranda Inter Milano , who needed to unpack a second racket by the end of the second set, came close to a break in the first set as he took eight points in a row but failed to convert three straight break opportunities.
"I believe I did serve better against Roger," said the Canadian, who ousted world No. 2 Roger Federer in surprise at the quarterfinals two days ago. "Whereas Novak today, every time he put his racket on the ball, he was making me play deep."
SHENZHEN, China Maglia Borja Valero Inter Milano , July 20 (Xinhua) -- Thanks to Wang Zhelin's 22 points and Zhao Rui's 27, Team Red of the Chinese men's basketball national team edged out Egypy 71-70 here on Thursday to seize their first victory at the Stankovic Continental Cup 2017.
Wang, who took only six in Wednesday's match against Croatia, opened the match with six points in-a-row and helped China to finish the first quarter leading at 16-15.
Zhao Rui made in all his four three-pointer attempts in the second quarter to score 20 points by halftime. Wang also added seven and the host outscored the Egyptian 27-17 in that period and headed into the second half with a lead of 11 points.
China, who led as many as 17 in the third quarter, suddenly lost their concentration before the final period. A 10-0 run in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter helped Egypt to turn the table. Romeh Elsadani's And1 play and Mostafa Meshaal's three-pointer helped Egypt to lead at 67-60.
Zhao Rui, who finished with a match-high 27 Maglia Kwadwo Asamoah Inter Milano , stood out to become the saver of the Chinese team. With one minutes and six seconds left on the clock, the 21-year-old guard made in two free throws to cut Egypt's lead to only one and then a layup to turn the table over.
Moustafa Elmekawi failed to hit Egypt's winning filed goal in the last seconds and Wang Zhelin grabbed the defense rebound to seize China the victory.
