Report: Broncos to hold a pre-draft visit with defensive lineman, Dre’Mont JonesMatthew Emmons-USA TODAY SportsAccording to former Ohio State defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones himself, he has a pre-draft visit lined up with the Denver Broncos. Jones told this to reporters after the Ohio State Pro Day concluded. Jones is a 6’3”, 281lb defensive lineman who has 33 3/4” arms and is compared to Nick Fairley according to NFL Network’s draft analyst Lance Zierlein. Like most players from Ohio State, Jones flourished this past season and had a breakout season for the Buckeyes. He totaled 43 tackles, 13 of which were tackles for a loss and also had 8.5 sacks for Urban Meyer’s defense. They did draft DeMarcus Walker in the second round just two seasons ago, but the former Florida State pass rusher appears to be a bit of a bust for the Broncos. So newly hired Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio could be looking for his own interior pass rusher to join the Broncos defensive line. I’d expect Jones to go sometime on day two of the 2019 NFL Draft. I could see him being an option for the Broncos in the second of third rounds of the draft. Why did Broncos General Manager John Elway hire new head coach Vic Fangio? Elway says it’s all about the basic building blocks of assembling a football team.Elway said in introducing Fangio today that he thinks the Broncos need a coach who gets back to basics, and that’s what Fangio does.“The game in the NFL is changing but I believe the things that still are about what football is all about is what Vic Fangio is all about,” Elway said. “Football is still built from the ground up and I think Vic is built from the ground up.
