It’s playoff time in most fantasy leagues Keelan Cole Jerseys Stitched , so if you’re still contending for a title it probably means you had a crafty draft, timely waiver wire moves and a fortunate bounce or two along the way. Now, the job is shifting. in a host of leagues. Weather could be a factor this week in some games, but the objective is the same as it was in September: win.START: Amari Cooper, WR, Cowboys: Performing at a WR1 level, Cooper has caught 16 of 17 targets in the past two weeks and will have a great opportunity to continue his pace against an Eagles pass defense that is 30th in fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Cooper was targeted 10 times in the Week 10 victory at Philadelphia and will see a similar volume of targets from quarterback Dak Prescott. The Eagles have allowed 47 completions of better than 20 yards, which plays well for Cooper’s chances.SIT: Tom Brady, QB, Patriots: The touchdowns haven’t been there for Brady, who has just four scoring tosses in his last five games, including a pair of zeroes in Weeks 8 and 10. With the emergence of rookie running back Sony Michel, the need for Brady to air it out has lessened. He’s also been less than stellar throughout his career at Miami, who is second in the league with 19 interceptions. Unless he’s the only available option, look elsewhere.START: Gus Edwards, RB, Ravens: Since being plugged into the lineup, Edwards has averaged 105 yards per game. Now he gets a Chiefs defense that is 31st in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing running backs. Edwards has just one touchdown this season, a total that should go up considering that Kansas City has given up 14 rushing scores and a hefty 5.1 yards per carry. He’s a borderline RB1 with potential to put up monster numbers.SIT: Marlon Mack, RB, Colts: Out of the frying pan that was the Jaguars‘ defense and into the fire of a blistering hot Texans D goes Mack, who had just eight carries for 27 yards last week against Jacksonville. His production could be further carved if Indianapolis must go pass-heavy, as rookie Nyheim Hines will see more touches. Houston is fifth in the league against the run Black Niles Paul Jerseys , and only the Bears (four) and Patriots (five) have allowed fewer rushing touchdowns than the Texans with six. Mack is too risky, especially in PPR formats.START: David Njoku, TE, Browns: Inconsistent of late, Njoku has just 12 targets in his last three games but will have the opportunity to reward faithful fantasy owners against a Panthers defense that is the worst at stopping opposing tight ends. Carolina has allowed at least two touchdown passes nine times this season and with Cleveland looking to avoid the Panthers’ fifth-ranked run defense, it’s easy to see quarterback Baker Mayfield making Njoku a focal point of the offense, especially in the red zone.SIT: Jared Goff, QB, Rams: Yes, Goff has led many a fantasy team to postseason glory, but starting him against the Bears could lead to a one-and-done scenario. Game time temps will be in the upper 20s and the only thing colder than the weather are opposing passers against the Chicago defense, which leads the league with 21 interceptions while allowing just five touchdown passes in the last five games. The risk-reward that comes with starting Goff on Sunday night leans heavily to the risk category.START: Adam Humphries, WR, Buccaneers: He has thrived in the wake of DeSean Jackson’s absence, catching touchdowns in each of his last three games. Humphries will have every opportunity to extend his scoring streak against a Saints defense that is the worst in fantasy points per game allowed to opposing receivers, as his sure hands have caught 16 of 20 targets in the past three weeks. With this game a potential offensive free-for-all, add Humphries as a WR3/flex.SIT: Alshon Jeffrey, WR, Eagles: Fantasy owners would love to know the whereabouts of Jeffrey, who hasn’t scored since Week 7 and has failed to exceed 50 receiving yards in his last five games. There’s little reason to envision Jeffery reviving his fortunes against a Cowboys pass defense that is sixth in fewest receiving yards allowed and is tied for third with just 16 touchdown passes allowed.START: Aaron Jones, RB, Packers: After rushing for only 36 yards last week against the Cardinals, Jones is a strong rebound candidate when he squares up against the Falcons Niles Paul Jerseys 2019 , who are 27th against the run and giving up 4.9 yards per carry. He did score last week, marking four straight games with a touchdown. Jones could finally see a more extensive workload under interim coach Joe Philbin.SIT: Russell Wilson, QB, Seahawks: It’s tough to bench a quarterback who has thrown multiple touchdowns in eight straight games, but Wilson is facing a Vikings pass defense that has been in lockdown mode in the past month. Minnesota is ninth in fewest passing yards allowed and has contained the likes of Drew Brees, Matthew Stafford, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady over the last five games, surrendering a combined four touchdown passes in the same span. Wilson hasn’t run much this season, but a Vikings pass rush that has recorded 36 sacks will force him to be more run-centric. Well, the Jacksonville Jaguars wrap up a miserable 2018 season against the Houston Texans on Sunday, and then will look to make improvements during the offseason. One such area the team surely needs to upgrade is the quarterback position, but for one last week (in all likelihood) Blake Bortles will be starting his last game for the Jags. The Jags and Texans have a deep rivalry, and that rivalry continues this week. For the final time in 2018, let’s review the series history. Series historyAll-time regular season series record: Houston Texans lead 20-13Postseason Record: N/ALast Jaguars win: Dec. 17, 2017 (45-7) Last Texans win: Oct. 21, 2018 (20-7) Current Streak: Texans won the last game Biggest Jaguars win: 45-7 (Dec. 17, 2017) Biggest Texans win: 30-6 (Jan. 3, 2016)Interesting takeaway: The Jaguars are just 5-11 (which, coincidently, will be the Jaguars 2018 season record if the team loses on Sunday) while playing the Texans on the road, but won the 2017 meeting in Houston and lost by a single point in the 2016 matchup. Quick thoughts: Historically, the Texans hold a seven-game advantage in the series. Before Jacksonville’s 2017 Week 1 demolition derby, the Texans had won the previous six matchups from 2014 through 2016. The Jags then briefly shifted the momentum with back-to-back blow out wins last season Black Cody Kessler Jerseys , but the Texans got back on the winning track in the first meeting of 2018. While the Texans win more often, a lot of games have been closely contested as 16 out of the 33 games between the two franchises have been decided by seven points or less. The Jaguars have played much better in Duval, winning 8 out of 17 meetings, while, as mentioned, above, the Texans has won 11 of the 16 meetings in Houston. Previous Matchup: Winner: TexansScore: 20-7Date: Oct. 21, 2018Location: EverBank Field, Jacksonville Team Stats: Jaguars — 217 passing yards,70 rushing yards, 15 first downsTexans — 139 passing yards,141 rushing yards, 15 first downsQuick recap: This game offered some foreshadowing, as it was the first time this season that Blake Bortles was benched in favor of Cody Kessler. Bortles would then start four more games before being benched indefinitely, and now we are back to Bortles as Kessler showed a complete lack of ability to lead an offense. This was not a blowout win by the Texans by any means, but three turnovers by the Jags (two fumbles by Bortles and one pick by Kessler) was the team’s undoing, while Houston did not turn the ball over once. Deshaun Watson was held in check with 139 passing yards, 13 rushing yards and one touchdown, while Lamar Miller ran for 100 yards and a score. The Jaguars simply couldn’t move the ball downfield. Jacksonville didn’t get on the board until late in the third quarter, and weren’t able to close the gap in the fourth quarter. This was the biggest win in terms of point differential in series history. Bortles carved up the Texans, completing 21 of 29 passes for 326 yards, three scores and zero picks (143.7 QB rating). Leonard Fournette sat this one out with a quad injury, and Chris Ivory, Corey Grant, T.J. Yeldon and Tommy Bohanon led the ground attack. Meanwhile, T.J. Yates was in for an injured Deshaun Watson and things didn’t go so well for him. Yates completed just 38 percent of his passes for 128 yards with one touchdown and one pick. The Jags jumped out to a 31-0 lead at halftime and never looked back.Through the Decades1990s: The Texans did not exist yet2000-2010: Tied 9-92011-Present: Houston 11-4Quick thoughts: It was a highly competitive series in the early going. Houston’s first season of competition was 2002 and the two teams each won nine of the first 18 matchups. But ever since the 2011 season, it has been all Texans. Houston has won 11 of the 15 contests since then, including seven of the past nine games. But Houston’s domination of Jacksonville came to a brief halt in 2017, before Houston’s win this past October. The Jaguars struggle in Houston, but have a one-game winning streak in Space City.Heading into the 2018 season finale, it’s good to see Bortles under center. He’s not a good quarterback, but he has always done things the right way, is easy to root for and honestly runs the offense better than Kessler. The Jaguars hurt themselves in terms of draft order with a win, but they can also knock Houston out of winning a divisional title, and that’s certainly not something they’re just going to lay down and let their rivals take. But Houston is just a much better team this year, so try as they might, it’s not going to be an easy game for the Jags. The Jaguars are big underdogs in this one, and I am sure the majority of fans are hoping for a loss to better Jacksonville’s draft position, but we’ve done a poll for 17 weeks straight and won’t stop now. Let us know.
