The team confirmed as much on Monday morning.Sunday will mark Wentz’s first live game action since he tore his ACL/LCL against the Los Angeles Rams last season. He’s made incredible progress in his recovery to be cleared for contact just 9.5 months after first getting hurt in December 2017. Wentz’s return to the field is certainly welcomed. That’s not a slight to reigning Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles, who performed adequately during Wentz’s absence. It’s just that the team’s potential is at its’ highest when No. 11 is under center. There should be little doubt about that after watching Wentz throw for 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions over 13 starts last season. It might be naive to think Wentz will step in and immediately fix all of the Eagles’ problems that we saw during their Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers. He could very well be rusty, and he won’t be helped by the fact the Eagles are missing a lot of their offensive weapons. But then again, Wentz did look really impressive when he WAS participating in offseason practices. And even if there’s an adjustment period, the team’s outlook is still improved with him starting. WENTZ BACK. LET’S GO.
